Winslow T. Oddfellow plays a dual role in “CatDog”: sometimes as the secondary protagonist and, at other times, the antagonist.
With his unmistakable Brooklyn accent, this intriguing mouse discovered CatDog when they were just infants and has since been their guardian.
Residing within a niche in CatDog’s home, Winslow never misses an opportunity to dish out witty and sarcastic comments. Particularly with Cat, he’s known for his cunning and sly maneuvers.
Who Is Winslow T. Oddfellow?
Winslow is a distinctive blue rat, characterized by a notably human-like nose. Ever since CatDog’s early days as a KittenPuppy; he’s been their watchful guardian.
While he has a soft spot for Dog, he takes peculiar pleasure in teasing Cat, often bursting into laughter at Cat’s expense. However, if Cat retaliates, Winslow cannot quickly forgive, even if he eventually moves on. Winslow can be likened to a pesky elder with his quirks, but don’t be fooled – he’s far from old in behavior and lacks a mature demeanor!

The Antagonist-Neighbor Dynamic
At first glance, Winslow is Cat and Dog’s pesky neighbor, living in their walls and frequently causing mischief. His playful antics, especially toward Cat, usually lead to laugh-out-loud moments.
But it’s this very dynamic that makes the relationship complex. While often painted as an antagonist, there’s an underlying fondness between him and CatDog. Their interactions remind us of real-life relationships where we can’t live with someone yet can’t imagine life without them.
Character Depth and Growth
Winslow is more than just a mischievous mouse. He’s a character with layers. In some episodes, viewers glimpse his vulnerabilities, insecurities, and even moments of genuine kindness.
Whether it’s his fear of monsters under his bed or his desire to be accepted and loved, Winslow showcases a depth that resonates with many viewers. His evolution throughout the series allows fans to connect with him on an emotional level, often seeing past his cheeky antics.
Celebrating Winslow T. Oddfellow
Winslow, despite his antics, isn’t necessarily the villain. Indeed, he has a peculiar way of expressing his fondness for CatDog. Sometimes, his actions towards Cat feel more like lessons in character-building than mere mischief.
Recall the episode with Dog’s diary?
Winslow, after catching Cat snooping, essentially enslaved him. But it nudged Cat to be honest with Dog. In “Fetch,” Winslow’s prank with a tennis ball led to an unfortunate adventure for Cat. It’s evident that not even Dog is always safe from his jests, though unintentionally.
When CatDog isn’t home, the place transforms under Winslow’s command. He knows no bounds, from marathon baths to turning their space into a personal cinema. Remember when he organized a yard sale with Cat’s belongings? Or hosted an unmatched party when feeling left out by Cat?
These antics are signature Winslow!
Winslow takes a twisted pride in his mischief. His rivalry with Sadie Linkletter, another sharp-tongued con-artist, takes this to another level.
Their short-lived romance ended with Sadie conning him, leaving behind a token heart-shaped cookie he now cherishes.
