Turbo Fast: Characters and Cast

written by Kenny.b
2.2K

Turbo FAST is an animated TV series from 2013 to 2016. DreamWorks produced it based on the 2013  film “Turbo,” about a garden snail named Turbo who dreams of being the world’s fastest snail.

After a freak accident involving nitrous oxide, he gains incredible speed and sets out to achieve his dream of winning the Indianapolis 500.

“Turbo FAST” picks up where the movie left off and follows Turbo and his crew of racing snails as they take on new challenges, adversaries, and adventures in the racing world. The “FAST” in the title stands for “Fast Action Stunt Team.”

Turbo Fast Characters

This series boasts a stellar cast, brilliant writing, and countless moments that will have you in stitches! Set presumably after the events of the movie (which I’ve yet to watch), the story follows Turbo and his Fast Action Racing Stunt Team (F.A.S.T) as they race across various global locales.

One standout episode for me sees the team in Japan, parodying anime-style showdowns, complete with taco-wielding ninjas and a nod to Godzilla.

While not every joke lands, those that do will leave you howling with laughter.

Turbo – Voiced by Reid Scott

Turbo, the protagonist of our story, isn’t your average garden snail. After a life-altering accident infuses him with incredible speed, Turbo evolves from a dreamer to a doer. He continues his journey in “Turbo FAST,” but it’s not just about racing anymore.

Turbo embodies the essence of perseverance, showing viewers that any dream – no matter how big – can be realized with determination and heart. His natural leadership qualities and infectious optimism make him a beloved character among fans of all ages.

Chet – Voiced by Eric Bauza

Chet - Voiced by Eric Bauza

Turbo’s older brother, Chet, offers a contrasting perspective to Turbo’s go-getter attitude. As the more cautious and protective sibling, Chet often finds himself in a state of worry for Turbo’s daring exploits.

But this very caution often saves the day, reminding everyone of the importance of balance. Chet’s character serves as a grounding force in the series, symbolizing the power of family ties and the beauty of sibling love.

Whiplash – Voiced by John Eric Bentley

Whiplash voiced by John Eric Bentley

Every team needs a brain, and Whiplash more than fills those shoes for the Fast Action Stunt Team. His tech-savvy nature often proves essential, helping the team navigate challenging tracks and outsmart their competitors.

But Whiplash isn’t all brains; he’s got grit too. His calm demeanor and a penchant for problem-solving provide the stability the team often needs amidst the chaos of high-stakes racing.

Burn – Voiced by Grey DeLisle

Burn - Voiced by Grey DeLisle

As her name suggests, Burn is a snail with an undeniable fiery spirit. She’s not just quick on the track; she’s quick-witted, too. Her fearless nature often propels the team forward, especially when they face daunting obstacles.

But beneath her robust exterior lies a heart of gold. Burn showcases the importance of passion in pursuing one’s goals, teaching viewers that enthusiasm and dedication often go hand in hand.

White Shadow – Voiced by Michael Patrick Bell

Whiteman Shatford, better known as the White Shadow, is one of the Turbo franchise’s central figures. A racer in Tito’s post-work snail races, he proudly takes his place among Whiplash’s elite crew.

Overflowing with unwarranted confidence yet brimming with genuine humor, White Shadow amusingly claims to be “fast like a shadow,” overlooking the reality that blurs are decidedly quicker. Though he might not be the brightest bulb in the box, there’s no denying White Shadow’s heart is gold.

Skidmark – Voiced by Amir Talai

Skidmark - Voiced by Amir Talai

Skidmark is, without doubt, the quirkiest member of the FAST crew. He keeps everyone on their toes with a personality as unpredictable as his racing strategies. His eccentricities, however, are precisely what make him invaluable.

Often thinking outside the box, Skidmark comes up with zany yet effective solutions to the team’s problems. His antics, while sometimes bordering on the bizarre, add a layer of humor to the series, ensuring there’s never a dull moment.

Smoove Move – Voiced by Phil LaMarr

DJ Doctor Smoove Move is one of the five tritagonists in the Turbo franchise. He races in Tito’s post-work snail races. Smoove boasts a slender and flexible physique.

A gradient of colors runs down his body, starting with a purple head that transitions into light and then dark green. A pair of fuzzy lavender dice dangle around his neck. His eyes shimmer in green, and compared to the other snails, he has a notably lankier build.

Tito – Voiced by Amir Talai

Tito turbo fast characters

“Tito Lopez” emerges as the tetartagonist in the Turbo franchise. He claims his role as one of the six tritagonists in Turbo. He appears as a supporting figure in Turbo: F.A.S.T. Employed at Dos Bros alongside his brother, Angelo; Tito primarily handles truck driving duties.

However, his penchant for snail racing often keeps him away from work, much to Angelo’s chagrin.

On one fateful evening, Tito encounters Theo and his brother Chet, ensnaring them for a snail race near his employment. This escapade brings Tito’s repeated distractions to light, further irking his already exasperated brother, Angelo.

Turbo Fast Intro

A Spin-off Like No Other

Everyone loves an underdog, especially when that underdog is a snail with dreams of unmatched speed! If you cheered for Turbo in DreamWorks‘ 2013 blockbuster “Turbo,” then “Turbo FAST” is the roller-coaster ride you won’t want to miss.

Transitioning from the silver screen to the episodic world of television, “Turbo FAST” offers viewers a chance to dive deeper into the adventures and challenges Turbo and his crew face after their cinematic debut. It’s not just about racing; it’s about camaraderie, overcoming obstacles, and proving that no dream is too big, even for a snail.

Beyond the Race Track

While the original “Turbo” film centered around Turbo’s quest to win the Indianapolis 500, “Turbo FAST” expands the horizons. The series takes Turbo and his crew far beyond the racetrack, delving into many adventures, from battling many new adversaries to navigating unexpected challenges.

It’s not always about speed; sometimes, it’s about wit, strategy, and sheer determination. This makes the show a perfect blend of action, comedy, and heartwarming moments that resonate with young viewers and adults alike.

Why “Turbo FAST” Is Worth the Watch

If you’re thinking this is just another animated spin-off, think again! “Turbo FAST” is a testament to DreamWorks Animation’s commitment to storytelling. While the show retains the charm and essence of the original film, it carves its unique narrative path.

Every episode offers two distinct tales, ensuring that monotony never creeps in. Themes of friendship, dreams, and perseverance are woven seamlessly, making each episode not just entertaining, but also thought-provoking. Whether you’re in it for the thrill of the race or the bonds of friendship, “Turbo FAST” promises a delightful ride!
