Solar Opposites characters come in two flavors: the aliens wrecking suburban life upstairs, and the shrunken humans running a brutal civilization in a bedroom wall.

That split is the show’s secret weapon. This guide walks through every major player across the whole run, from the leads to the Wall to the SilverCops.

The setup is simple. Four Shlorpians and a doomsday slug crash-land on Earth after their home planet, Shlorp, is destroyed.

They are supposed to protect the Pupa until it terraforms the world. Mostly, they just try to survive each other.

The Main Solar Opposites Characters

The core of the show is a family of four aliens plus the Pupa. They bicker, they invent, and they slowly grow attached to a planet they claim to hate.

Korvo

Korvo, full designation Korvotron, is the blue, uptight leader of the crew. He is the smartest one on paper and the worst at socializing. His whole goal is fixing the ship and leaving Earth, which almost never works out.

He was originally voiced by co-creator Justin Roiland. After Roiland left the show in 2023, Dan Stevens took over the role from season 4 on. Over the series, Korvo softens and even marries his partner, Terry.

The Pupa

The Pupa looks like a harmless yellow slug. It is really a living supercomputer carrying all of Shlorp’s data, built to grow up and remake Earth into a new Shlorp.

Its color is a running countdown to doom. It shifts through yellow, orange, pink, purple, green, and blue as it nears maturity. Sagan McMahan voices its baby-like gurgles.

Terry

Terry is the fun one, voiced by Thomas Middleditch. He loves Earth, loud T-shirts, and bad TV, and he cares far more about having a good time than the mission. He is supposedly the Pupa specialist, though he knows about as much as anyone.

The draft version of this character was framed as Korvo’s roommate. That is out of date. Terry and Korvo grew into a couple and got married in the show’s Valentine’s special, and their romance is the warm heart of the series.

Yumyulack

Yumyulack is Korvo’s replicant and a self-proclaimed bounty hunter, voiced by Sean Giambrone. He hates being forced to attend Earth school, so he takes it out on humans by shrinking the ones who annoy him and dumping them in the Wall.

He claims it is research. It is really about power. Under all the cruelty, he secretly wants his sister Jesse to like him.

Jesse Wearsprada

Jesse is Terry’s replicant and easily the kindest alien in the house. Voiced by Mary Mack, she shares Terry’s optimism and truly wants to fit in with humans.

She is also the reason the Wall has a religion. She occasionally tosses candy and supplies to the shrunken people out of pity, so they worship her as a god and named their church after her bow.

Solar Opposites Characters in the Wall

The Wall is the shrunken-human society Yumyulack keeps in a terrarium. It grew from a background gag into the most dramatic part of the show, and its cast carries real weight.

Cherie

Cherie, voiced by Christina Hendricks, is a former Benihana chef shrunk for serving Yumyulack shrimp he did not order. She helps Tim lead the rebellion against the Duke, then Tim betrays and stabs her.

Here is the correction to the old version of this post: Cherie did not die. She survived, gave birth to her daughter Pezlie, and became the main protagonist of seasons 3 and 4. She goes on to expose Tim and build a new life in the Backyard.

Tim

Tim, full name Lindsay Tim Weekly, was shrunk for one reason: he wore a red shirt. Voiced by Andy Daly, he rises from timid nobody to beloved resistance leader.

Then power ruins him. He kills the Duke, hides the way out, betrays Cherie, and rules the Wall as a tyrant. His story ends in the season 3 episode “Hululand,” where he dies of lead poisoning, never learning he had a daughter.

The Duke / Ringo

The Duke, voiced by Alfred Molina, was the Wall’s first tyrant. He hoarded supplies, favored the rich, and crushed the poor until Tim and Cherie overthrew him.

Escaping through a hidden hole to the Backyard, he unexpectedly bonded with Cherie while the two dodged Jeff the Possum. He figured out she was pregnant and ended up sacrificing himself to protect her. Terry later resurrects him with amnesia under the name Ringo.

Pezlie

Pezlie is Cherie and Tim’s daughter and the first human ever born tiny. She got her name from her birthplace, a PEZ dispenser that Jesse nearly ate before tossing aside.

Her existence turns her into a target. The Bowinian Church claims her as a living messiah, and much of Cherie’s later story is a fight to keep her safe.

Halk Hogam

Halk Hogam, voiced by Sterling K. Brown, is a haunted war hero of the Great Wall War. In a very Solar Opposites detail, his pre-shrink job was executive story editor on the TV drama Bones, which is why Tim puts him on a serial-killer case.

He starts out loyal to Tim, then turns on him once he learns the truth about Cherie.

He partners with Cherie to bring Tim down, even as he longs to quit heroics and settle down with his wife, Nova.

Sister Sisto

The Bowinian Church worships Jesse and is named after her bow. Its first head was the fairly harmless Sister Sasha. Its second head, Sister Sisto, is a different story.

Voiced by Sutton Foster, Sisto is the power-hungry villain of seasons 3 and 4. She outs Pezlie as a messiah, brands the baby, and rules through fear. It is strongly implied she poisoned Tim, and she meets a fittingly absurd end when Jesse accidentally steps on her.

The SilverCops: Later Solar Opposites Characters

Starting in season 3, the show added a third storyline about the SilverCops, a gang of corrupt intergalactic police who brutalize refugees fleeing dead planets.

Glen

Glen is the neighbor Terry shot in the foot, then stuffed into a cryo-pod and launched into space for seven years. Voiced by Kieran Culkin, he gets scooped up by the SilverCops and, against all odds, joins their ranks as their first human officer.

The SilverCops Squad

• LoneSun: a purple alien with a Stetson and an electric guitar who recruits Glen, mostly to use him as a scapegoat.
