Tyler Bowman is the leader of the Supernoobs. In practice, that means he is the one kid on the team trying to act like an adult.

He wields the blue Battle Ball and serves as the group’s moral compass. He also spends half the show cleaning up messes, including the ones he caused himself.

He is brave and level-headed most of the time, and a little bossy the rest of it. He also goes hopelessly awkward the second his crush walks by.

Who Is Tyler Bowman?

Tyler is one of the four kids at the center of Supernoobs. The show follows middle schoolers who get alien Battle Balls and fight a planet-eating Virus. Of the four, Tyler is the designated grown-up, the one who keeps the team pointed in the right direction.

Look-wise, he is the clean-cut one. Tyler is pale, with neatly brushed blonde hair and a sharp nose.

He wears a green tee with a navy collar over a white long-sleeve. When he powers up, that blonde hair turns bright blue, which is the tell that a Noob is in battle mode.

The Leader of the Supernoobs

Tyler leads by default. Nobody voted him in, but he is the most responsible member and the only one who consistently thinks about the mission. He is the heart of the team, and he keeps the others from doing something truly stupid.

The show is smart enough to poke at him, too. Tyler can be bossy, and he is not above a little hypocrisy. In one episode, he lectures his friends for cheating. Then he turns around and uses his own Battle Ball to cheat in a spelling bee.

That flaw is what keeps him from being a boring goody-goody. He is a kid pretending to have it all figured out, which is far more relatable than a perfect leader.

Tyler’s Personality

Tyler is a quick thinker who is happiest when the team is working together like a well-oiled machine. He gets socially awkward, especially around Amy, but he does not let it wreck his confidence. When there is a warrior skill to sharpen, he is the one running drills.

He also has hobbies that make him feel like a real 12-year-old:

• His hobbies include video games, paintball, and break dancing.
• He has a soft spot for stuffed animals and winning competitions.
• From the Incredibly Amazing Man episode onward, he wears a wrist watch that warns him of incoming Virus attacks.

Tyler’s Powers and Battle Ball

Tyler’s blue Battle Ball is built around brains over brawn. His main tricks:

• Teleportation: He can zap himself, and other people, to almost any location.
• Mind-reading: He can scan minds and sense the presence of others nearby.
• Enhanced senses: The Battle Ball sharpens all of his senses, including infrared heat vision for spotting invisible enemies.
• Mind control: A rare, powerful trick he has only pulled out once.

There is one important catch that a lot of write-ups miss. Tyler is physically weak, so his powers are all utility and mental, not raw muscle. He often leans on a blaster in a straight fight. Later, after the Ball Master repairs his Battle Ball, he adds telekinesis to the list.

Tyler and the Supernoobs Squad

Tyler is the glue of the group, and his bonds with the others carry the show:

• Kevin Reynolds: His best friend and partner in every scheme. They are close, competitive, and constantly getting each other in trouble.
• Jennifer Shope: The other brain of the team and his science partner. They respect each other, with a hint of something more under the surface.
• Theodore Roachmont: The wild card he has to keep in line, and a loyal friend through everything.
• Memnock and Zenblock: The alien mentors. Tyler was scared of them at first, then grew to lean on their advice the most out of anyone.
