Monkey Fist started life as Lord Monty Fiske. He was a famous British nobleman, explorer, and archaeologist. So he had money, fame, and respect. But he wanted something far stranger.
It all changed on a dig. Fiske found an ancient monkey idol on his travels. Then he took it home to England and lined it up with four others. That unlocked an ancient force called the Mystical Monkey Power. Fans of the iconic animated series first met him in “Monkey Fist Strikes.” By the end of that episode, he had traded his whole old life for monkey magic. So this is not made-up cartoon martial arts. Monkey style kung fu is real, and it copies the wild, jerky movements of a monkey. Few fighters can read it. That makes him a nightmare to face.
In fact, he is one of the only villains who can match Kim hand to hand. The other one is Shego, which is high company. His years of training even beat raw talent. So he often outfights people who got their skills the easy way.
Second, the Mystical Monkey Power. It boosts his strength, speed, and agility on top of his training. There is also one strange detail. DNAmy surgically swapped his hands and feet for monkey ones. So he can grip objects with his feet and knuckle-walk like the real thing. His feet basically work as a second pair of hands.
Monkey Fist’s Allies: Bates and the Monkey Ninjas
Monkey Fist mostly works alone. Still, he is never short on muscle. He commands a squad of trained Monkey Ninjas who do his dirty work. They follow him into every scheme and battle.
He also started out with a butler named Bates. Bates stayed loyal, even though he quietly thought the monkey magic was nonsense. Beyond that, Monkey Fist teamed up with other villains now and then. Drakken, Shego, Duff Killigan, and the ninja Fukushima all worked with him at some point. But those partnerships never lasted long.
Monkey Fist’s Personality
Monkey Fist commits to the monkey thing completely. He hoots when he laughs. Then he beats his chest when he is angry. He even knuckle-walks around his own castle. It is ridiculous, and I love it.
But do not mistake him for a clown. He is one of the show’s most ruthless cartoon characters. Most Kim Possible baddies rely on silly death traps. Monkey Fist, though, openly tried to kill people from his very first episode. So he stood out in a pretty goofy show. He also meditates with a “Serenity Chime” to stay centered. In short, he is part zen monk and part obsessed maniac.
There is a sad layer here too. Underneath the menace sits a tragic figure. His obsession ruined his life and burned through his fortune. So while we root for Kim, a small part of us almost feels for the guy.
Monkey Fist and DNAmy
Now for the romance nobody asked for. DNAmy is a genetic scientist with a giant crush on Monkey Fist. She is the one who gave him his monkey hands and feet. After that, she fell for him hard.
Monkey Fist did not feel the same. At first, he tolerated her. Then she added gorilla limbs to her own body to win him over. That horrified him completely. So he spent most of their scenes running for the door. It is one of the funniest running gags in the show.
Monkey Fist vs. Ron Stoppable
Here is the heart of his story. Monkey Fist shares the Mystical Monkey Power with Ron Stoppable. So he sees goofy, snack-loving Ron as his true rival, not Kim. That drives him up the wall.
The funny part? Ron barely takes him seriously. Monkey Fist desperately wants to be called an “arch-foe.” Instead, Ron calls him an “arch-bumbler.” So every loss to Ron stings twice as hard. For me, that rivalry is some of the best comedy in the series.
Who Voiced Monkey Fist in Kim Possible?
So who voiced Monkey Fist in Kim Possible? Tom Kane played him in the English version. He gave Monkey Fist that smug, posh, slightly unhinged voice. For Japanese audiences, Atsushi Goto took over the role. Both versions nail the mix of refined lord and feral primate.
What Happened to Monkey Fist?
Here is the big question fans always ask. What happened to Monkey Fist in Kim Possible? His story ends in the Season 4 episode “Oh No! Yono!”
He makes a deal with a stone demon called the Yono. To gain ultimate power, he agrees to follow “the path of the Yono.” But the price is brutal. The Yono turns him to stone, for good. Other characters got petrified and bounced back. Monkey Fist did not. So he became one of the only Kim Possible villains the show truly wrote out. He even pops up as a statue in the finale, still frozen. It looks like DNAmy dug him up and kept him. So in a weird way, she finally got her man.

- His name doubles as a real thing. A “monkey’s fist” is also a classic sailor’s knot. So the writers stacked the monkey kung fu joke on top of a real-world term.

- He has a pile of nicknames. Shego calls him “Hairy Hands,” Ron calls him a “Hairy Freak,” and DNAmy calls him “Cuddle Monkey.”
- He got his own video game. “Kim Possible: Revenge of Monkey Fist” landed on the Game Boy Advance back in 2002.
- He was openly lethal. Unlike most goofy Kim Possible villains, Monkey Fist showed a real willingness to kill from day one.
