The most annoying cartoon characters of all time include Elmyra Duff, D.W. Read, Pearl Krabs, Scrappy-Doo, and Drizella Tremaine.
Let’s face it; we’ve all encountered those annoying cartoon characters that never seem to leave us alone.
Whether it’s Spongebob Squarepants constantly yelling “Mrs. Puff! Mrs. Puff!” or Bugs Bunny tormenting poor Elmer Fudd, these characters have a unique talent for getting under our skin.
But why do we feel this way about them? Is it their irritating voices or annoying catchphrases? Or perhaps it’s because they never seem to learn from their mistakes and continue causing mayhem in every episode.
Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure- we can all agree that these annoying cartoon characters deserve a one-way ticket to the Island of Misfit Toys.
Annoying Cartoon Characters
So let’s raise our glasses (or water bottles, if you’re like Spongebob and can’t hold your liquids) to the most annoying cartoon characters of all time. Here’s to never having to endure their shenanigans again. Cheers!
This list can be different depending on who you love, but I’m sure you can all agree.
17Elmyra Duff

Annoying Level: 9/10
Elmyra Duff, a character from the Looney Tunes franchise, is known for her excessive affection toward animals, often causing them harm in her attempts to hug and love them.
This behavior, combined with her obliviousness to the pain she causes, makes her frustrating and annoying to both the animals and the other characters.
Additionally, Elmyra’s constant bubbly cheerfulness and childlike innocence can grate viewers. Overall, her actions and personality traits create an annoyingly overbearing character.
16Caillou

Annoying Level: 6/10
Caillou’s character shows a sense of caring, adventure, and helpfulness.
Generally, he asks many questions about the world around him and is always eager to learn more.
In several earlier episodes, Caillou misbehaves or gets upset when things don’t go his way (such as Caillou’s Cross Word and Caillou Joins the Circus). This puts his annoying level at a 7 out of 10.
In later episodes, the color of Caillou’s shirt changes from gray to yellow, indicating a redesigned personality for an older Caillou.
15All of the Angry Birds

Annoying Level: 9/10
Let me be honest with you. The movie Angry Birds didn’t appeal to me. Honestly, it doesn’t look very good. That crap won’t hold my attention for an hour and a half. The movie should never have been made in the first place.
14Darla from Finding Nemo

Annoying Level: 9/10
When Finding Nemo hit the big screen 13 years ago, its appeal was truly cross-generational.
There were a lot of endearing characters in the story (and many sidekicks) that had theatre-goers of all ages rooting for them.
The only exception is a little girl. There’s that girl with the braces and the red ponytails, you know. Nothing was more terrifying – and incredibly annoying than the ginger patient at the dentist.
13Princess Morbucks

Annoying Level: 8/10
Even for a little girl, Princess Morbucks is boastful, spoiled, greedy, and dictating. To silence her temper tantrums, her dad hands her cash whenever she wants something. Whenever she does not get what she wants, she becomes emotionally distressed, which irritates everyone around her.
Despite her desire to be a Powerpuff Girl, she lacks superpowers or experience in crime fighting.
It angers her that they won’t let her become one, so she is only willing to become one for cosmetic reasons (since the trio is loved in Townsville).
12D.W. Read, Arthur

Annoying Level: 6/10
“DW” is often annoying to Arthur, despite her innocent appearance (he considers her a pest and once warned Sue Ellen that her initials stand for “Disaster Warning”; D.W. later adopted DisasterWarning99 as her username for Virtual Goose). It can be enjoyable for her to get Arthur into trouble sometimes.
11Nermal, Garfield Gets Real

Annoying Level: 7/10
A proud Nermal proclaims himself the cutest kitten on the planet and rejoices in his cuteness. At times, Nermal can be quite devious, as when he swam in Garfield’s water bowl with a shark fin to trick him into thinking there was a shark there.
A few times, Garfield said that Nermal might not live to see his next birthday even though he is bigger and stronger than him. While Garfield mistreats Nermal, he secretly looks up to him and sees him as his best friend.
10Sway Sway, Breadwinners

Annoying Level: 7/10
Green duck SwaySway wears a blue cap with a slice of bread. Slim and tall, with a big head, he has a good build. The feathers on his head and cheeks are green, and he has blond hair. The white V-neck t-shirt, the blue shorts, and the white socks expose an exposed stomach.
9Emojis, The Emoji Movie

Annoying Level: 9/10
All emojis live in Textopolis, a bustling city hidden inside smartphones. Emojis have only one facial expression, except for Gene, an exuberant emoji with multiple expressions.
Gene enlists Hi-5’s help and a notorious codebreaker known as Jailbreak to become “normal” like the other emojis. As the three emojis explore the other apps, they discover a great danger that might threaten the very existence of their phones.
It would be nice to erase this movie from existence – but let’s hope that the burning wreckage serves as a warning not to repeat this mistake.
8Pearl Krabs, SpongeBob Squarepants

Annoying Level: 9/10
Pearl’s brain is the largest of all the Bikini Bottom residents, just like sperm whales, which have giant brains on the planet.
Her math skills make her a good candidate for Mr. Krabs’ restaurant as a bookkeeper. She spends most of her time and money in the mall because she is still young and has not matured yet.
In addition to being happy, naive, and well-meaning, Pearl also has a high energy level. Since she is the biggest teenage girl in the ocean, she cannot fit in with the other residents of Bikini Bottom.
Even though she usually doesn’t get along with her peers at Bikini Bottom High School, she is friendly and trustworthy.
7Dee Dee, Dexter’s Laboratory

Annoying Level: 8/10
The older sister of Dexter, Dee Dee, is incredibly ditzy, simple-minded, energetic, and hyperactive.
Each show episode usually involves her sabotaging her brother’s experiments and destroying his lab. However, she does it out of ignorance rather than malicious intent, and she loves and cares deeply for him.
Although she displayed hypocritical anger when Dexter was in her room and messing with her belongings. In addition to ballet and puppies, Dee Dee enjoys playing dolls with her friends, messing around in Dexter’s laboratory, and generally portraying all the stereotypes associated with girls.
6Drizella Tremaine, Cinderella

Cinderella’s secondary antagonist, Drizella Tremaine, appears in Disney’s 1950 animated feature film. The eldest daughter of Lady Tremaine, she is Cinderella’s stepsister, Anastasia’s biological older sister, and Anastasia’s biological older sister.
Sadistically cruel, abusive, and arrogant, she is portrayed as a vicious person. Because Anastasia sets such a bad example of spitefulness towards Cinderella, she is the better of the two sisters. Due to her contemptuous envy for Cinderella’s success, she often gets Cinderella into trouble in the Kingdom Hearts series.
5Angelica Pickles, Rugrats

The series’ main antagonist is Angelica Charlotte Pickles, as well as its secondary tritagonists. Even so, she usually sides with the babies against the films’ respective main villains at the end, acting more as an antihero.
Angelica Pickles was ranked 7th on TV Guide’s list of the 50 Greatest Cartoon Characters of All Time in 2002. Her cousins Tommy and Dil Pickles, call her a spoiled brat. Tommy Pickles and the other Rugrats consider her their archenemy.
4Bendy, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends

In the episode “Everyone Knows It’s Bendy,” Bendy is a yellow and black striped imaginary friend. Jeff Bennett voices the character.
Whenever the people he blames claim innocence and his guilt to gain sympathy, he will cry. He is a troublemaker who blames everyone for the vandalisms he causes.
3Mr. Frond, Bob’s Burgers

It is a joy to work with Mr. Frond, a well-meaning but often incompetent guidance counselor. Despite his good intentions, his students, especially Louise Belcher, easily manipulated him. Cats, 90’s music, productive dialogue, and arts and crafts, such as quilting and theatre, are some of his favorite things.
2Scrappy-Doo, Scooby-Doo

He often assisted Scooby and his friends in solving mysteries because he idolized his uncle Scooby.
Despite his small size, Scrappy had a highly energetic and brave personality, and he was often seen directly fighting the various monsters Scooby and his associates encountered. However, he showed a little cowardice at times.
Scooby taught him that there are times when you should be bold and times when you should retreat while traveling with him.
1Diego, Dora the Explorer

In addition to himself and his two daughters, Diego hails from a family of three children.
While Dora is the oldest child in her family (her younger brothers and sisters, Guillermo and Isabella, are fraternal twins), Diego is the youngest (he has two older sisters, Daisy and Alicia).
Unlike his cousin, with whom he’s a supporting/minor character, Diego has his show where he’s a significant character (Dora is a minor character).
Why Are Some Cartoon Characters Annoying?
There are many reasons why some cartoon characters may be annoying. It could be their constant need for attention, their inability to take hints or even their annoying habits. In essence, it all depends on who you are and what you find irritating.
